Reviews
The museum has a very interesting collection of religious artifacts and did a good job explaining their functions. It’s very informative. Too bad no photos are allowed inside. It also provides a good view of old Madrid and the Royal Palace across the plaza. I came here and climbed the dome by accident, but I don’t regret it at all!
The museum could be an interesting visit but it's definitely not for everyone.
I would recommend the museum if:
1. You are really into old architecture
2. You enjoy panoramic views and photos
3. You enjoy the feeling that comes with getting to the top high places
I wouldn't recommend the museum:
1. If you're not interested in climbing lots of stairs. (The elevators don't work)
2. If you get bored easily at museums.
3. If you like to take photos of EVERYTHING. (Visitors are prohibited from taking photos in some parts of the church)
Cost: It costs 7 Euros for most people and 5 Euros for some residents that fit into certain categories.
I really like the views from the top of the church. That was my favourite part of my visit
This is a beautiful cathedral with access to the roof where you can also take great pictures of the royal palace and nearby city blocks. It’s a good experience for putting some extra steps climbing those stairs and enjoying the view 📷 …
The cathedral is beautiful of course and there is also a museum attached. The cathedral is worth going to and I was suprised that it was free, but donations are encouraged. The museum however, is not free and costs 7 euro. We did not go inside the museum because we were there already years ago.
7 euro for ticket but not interesting. The woman who sell the ticket was rude.
The building on the outside is stunning, worthwhile to go inside and have a closer look, but the amount of people and the line was huge.
Magnificent Cathedral, museum is interesting to visit, lots of treasures and also a beautiful collection of jewellery. Unfortunately no photography permitted inside... the rooftop walkout has a spectacular view!
General Admission is 5 dollars if you want to see the insides but if you ask me the exterior is the cool part.
